Early in my career, I was working with another photographer on a wedding. I shadowed her as she set up shot after shot and I noticed that, in each one, the groom was smiling his best but there was just a flicker behind his eyes that made him look as if he was being tortured. Then, I caught the moment, his new bride was posing for her solo shot. With the pressure finally off, he was watching her with the love which I knew he felt, but simply had not had a chance to show. He didn’t know I was going to turn and snap a candid of him, but when I did, I caught the first and only fully relaxed, fully legitimate smile recorded on that important day.
That’s when I realized what unique gift I can offer my photography clients.
In addition to photography, I direct and teach amateur theatre. Neither portrait photography clients nor amateur actors are fully prepared to show what they really want to on their faces. However, I am uniquely qualified to help you develop some good modeling skills in just a short time, and capture those moments in a beautiful way.
So, I hope that when you choose me it’s not because you like my reasonable pricing or because you like to both own the copyright free digital negatives as well as having the option to order prints. I hope that you choose me because you like my style and feel confident that I can help you and your family to look your very best.
I can also use photography to design graphics for your home or business needs. In addition my many years of experience of painting scenic backdrops in the theatre have left me capable of customized murals on the walls of your home.
I officially started my business in 2006. But I was doing theatre photography, publicity and graphic design for nearly 10 years before that.
I live in Sandy with my wife Jenn, my teenage stepsons and my twin toddlers. For more information about my theatre career please visit East High Theatre and Broadway Kidz Utah.
